David Terkla

David Terkla

Research Interests and Specialties:
Environmental and Marine Resource Economics, Regional Economic Development, Public Finance.

Professor Terkla conducts research on environmental issues including
the valuation of coastal resources, fisheries and waterfront uses. His
research interests also include local economic development and he is
active in state marine environmental policy issues. He is the author or
co-author of a variety of articles published in such journals as Land
Economics, The Journal of Environmental Economics and Management,
and The Journal of Public Policy and Management. His co-authored
books include The New England Fishing Economy, Invisible Factors in
Local Economic Development
, and Troubled Waters: Economic
Structure, Industrial Policy, and Fisheries Trade. 
His latest book is
entitled Start-Up Factories: High Performance Management, Job Quality, and Regional Advantage.

Professor Terkla will be on sabbatical for the fall 2007 semester.
