Full-time students typically start taking electives in
the second semester of the first year and complete them in the third year.
For part-time students, enrollment in electives would typically begin
in the fourth year.
*Students with an
appropriate master's degree earned less than seven years before matriculation
in the doctoral program receive advanced standing and take 12 less elective
credits. Students with an appropriate master's degree earned more
than seven years prior to starting the program can petition to the Academic
Affairs Committee and Graduate Dean for advanced standing.
